What sets the TES apart is the contemporary design inspired from John Arnold's movements. The barrel bridge for instance has the traditional English wave-form but is made from sapphire to allow a maximum view on the open-worked barrel and wheels. The tourbillon and motion-work bridges are classically triangular but are skeletonised. The combination of sapphire and open-worked bridges gives an incredible depth and three-dimensional to these 28-piece limited editions.

The movement of the TES is said to be "inverted"; meaning that most technical elements and visually interesting features are shown on the dial side. Other technical eccentricities make this 25-piece limited edition so particular such as the wheels of the winding system and gear train with their asymmetrical and curved toothing. Known as "wolf's teeth", they were already used in high-end pocket watches.
